COMMON Education Foundation
Thanks to the generous donations from the
COMMON community, four promising students
are heading back to school with an extra $500
this fall. The COMMON Education Foundation
Tuition Reimbursement Scholarship can be used
to offset tuition cost or purchase textbooks.
This year’s recipients, in alphabetical order, are
Jordan Crosby, Aaron Lingenfelder, Andrew
Machado, and Amanda Walsh.
Jordan Crosby (Referred by
Jeff Crosby)
Jordan was born, raised,
and still lives in Fort Wayne,
Indiana. He is currently 19
years old and a graduate of
Heritage Jr. Sr. High School,
receiving an Academic
Honors diploma. He is on
track to graduate in 2012
from Trine University in Angola, Indiana. Jordan
is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with
a major in Informatics. He is also preparing for
a minor in Business and then intends to go to
graduate school for an MBA. He hopes to be able
to continue and develop the use of technology
in business.
Andrew Machado
(Referred by Charles
Guarino)
Andrew is currently a junior
at CUNY Baruch College in
New York City, NY. He hopes
to receive his Bachelor’s
degree of Business
Administration in Computer
Information Systems in
December 2010. He would then like to obtain
a job working in a well renowned IT company.
Besides attending school full-time, Andrew also
works part-time as an IT Technician for the New
York City Department of Education.
Aaron Lingenfelder
(Referred by Hildy
Dickinson)
Aaron is 22 years old
and attending Southeast
Community College in
Milford, Nebraska. His major
is in Computer Programming
Technology. He has been
interested in programming
ever since a class was offered in high school.
Aaron enjoys attending classes and learning all
about programming, from the logic behind it
to the syntax of the languages. He is currently
a 5th quarter student, and is looking forward to
graduating this December.
Amanda Walsh (Referred
by Laura Ubelhor)
Amanda graduated from
Central Michigan University
with a B.S. in Business
Administration in May
2009. She currently works
for Consultech Services,
Inc., an IT company that
specializes in System i
(AS/400) development, support and application
implementation assistance, and web site
development. She plans to further her education
by taking more IT classes, and eventually
earning a Master’s Degree. She would like to
thank COMMON for helping her to pursue her
educational goals.
Recipients were chosen for their academic
performance and the quality of their submitted
essay. All applicants were referred and
sponsored by a COMMON member.
